Tis the season for amazing light!!
Ah, October! What can rival October's light? This month has long been a favorite of mine for many reasons, but the light is right up at the top!! That evening light cries out to the photographer's heart and begs to be utilized for the sheer beauty of it! Last weekend I had the joy of being a second shooter for a dear friend of mine who is a great photographer! {www.haleyhendricksonphotography.com} The day was perfect, the light amazing, the couple lovely... it was just one of those weddings... (if only they could all be like that one)!! :) It made me remember what I love about weddings and Octobers light...
What can you do with a great photo?
Good question! Glad you asked! So much can be done with a great photo. Of course you know this…I mean, Pintrest would have half its pins if not for great photos!! There are some really extraordinary things that can be done though… the creation of art with a photo of your child, family, self…. I find it a bit inspiring! This is kind of a cross-over to my other passion which is digital scrapbooking. I started with digital scrapbooking in 2007 after my 3rd child was born and any illusion of being able to put all the necessary and lovely scrapbooking supplies out on a table for more than 10 uninterrupted minutes was dashed! The answer? Go digital! I could work on a layout for small snippets of time and just hit save!! It was quite revolutionary for me and if you haven't explored this realm much there is some serious art out there and some amazingly gifted people creating these pages. It's inspiring and a great outlet for all those lovely photos!!
Time for a new family portrait??
I definitely know how hard it is to carve out time for a family portrait session!! Our last one was in 2012 and I'm pretty sure if you saw my kids today you wouldn't recognize them from those images… they've changed and grown so much! Yikes! But if we are honest, these image are nothing short of treasures in the fleeting years we have together being family. I know it's on my short list this year. Take new family photos!! {preferably not with the timer feature on my phone} :)
