I had the joy of photographing this family last month over at RiverBend Ponds. Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy that space. We just wandered and took photos and played. I loved it and I hope they loved it! I really enjoy sessions that are super relaxed with no big agenda, just ordinary me out there catching the light and a few stolen moments with lovely souls.
Everything is better with friends! This was a super fun session with my daughter and 2 of her closest friends. It's always a bit of a challenge to photograph more than one senior at once cause I'm trying to give them all equal camera time and that can be hard to pull off! But we got a great evening for it with amazing light and as an added bonus we got to see a mama bear and her 2 cubs just after the sun started going down in the foothills. Very unique end to this group session!
If I were going to distill down what it is I love about capturing senior sessions, I'd come to: what's not to love? First of all, I can put all of my attention into capturing just one soul. Love that! Second, these sessions almost always get scheduled in summer/fall when the light is spectacular. Love that! Third, they're just flat out fun! We get to explore, take our time, go on mini adventures and transition to new clothes, new looks as we go. Love that! Yep. That pretty much sums it up! What's not to love?
Here's some images from my session with Andrea in late summer...
Am I biased to love our downtown? Maybe. But maybe not. If you've ever taken the time to explore all the nooks and crannies (and believe me, I have!) I think you would agree that's its a pretty awesome space. I LOVE photographing sessions downtown. There is endless variety for backdrops, spaces I haven't shot in before, and the vibe is pretty great too.
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of capturing some images of this amazing family downtown. In my opinion it was a prime spot for them cause they own a little piece of this space, so it's kinda like their living room or back yard. Ya know?
I've been privileged to know this lovely soul for a few years now and it was my joy to capture some images for her a few weeks back. This was a new location for me, but I ended up really liking it!! I love getting to explore new spaces and create beautiful images with beautiful souls...it's pretty much the best.
